Unstitched vs stitched: which to buy
Unstitched means you receive the fabric pieces — typically shirt, dupatta and trouser lengths — and have them tailored. It costs less up front, gives you full control over the cut, and is the usual choice for anything you want fitted properly. Stitched and ready-to-wear saves time and is better if you need the outfit soon or cannot get to a tailor. If you are buying unstitched, check the stated metres carefully: a 2-piece and a 3-piece are not interchangeable.
Fabric by season
Lawn and cotton are the summer staples in Pakistan — light, breathable and easy to wash. Chiffon and georgette drape well and photograph beautifully, which is why they dominate party and Eid wear, but they generally need lining. Heavier embroidered fabrics suit winter functions and weddings. Match the fabric to when you will actually wear the outfit, not only to how it looks on screen.
Getting the fit right when ordering online
For ready-to-wear, measure a garment you already own and compare it with the listing rather than relying on S/M/L, which varies widely between sellers.
